Welcome
A Message From The Parents Club President
On behalf of all West Point Parents of today and of years
past, welcome to the Parents Club of New York and New
Jersey.
When our sons and daughters became New Cadets, each of us
experienced a tremendous feeling of joy and pride. We knew
that they would make many new friends as they embarked on
the challenges of the Long Grey Line. We were also a bit
apprehensive. Sending a child off the West Point is
somehow more final than the four year long process
experienced with a college, especially in light of the
limited contact we could have with our New Cadets during
the initial period of training.
What a wonderful feeling, then, to discover that we too
would become part of a community of friends who support
and encourage one another and share with each other not
only the joys and anxieties of West Point but also the
lessons learned, in lore, of many generations of parents.
We are eager to share the experience with you and think
that, like us, you will find strength and solidarity with
other West Point Families.
As a member of the Parents Club of West Point you have
access to many resources. Guest speakers, who are
affiliated with the Academy, are often invited to
membership meetings. Their presentations provide a wealth
of knowledge to all of our parents.
Please remember the Parents Club of West Point holds all
of its meetings and events at the Academy. This provides
our members the chance to visit with their Cadet and
Grads, allowing them to visit and enjoy the many beautiful
historic sites in and around West Point.
In our directory, you will find a listing of all our
members, a calendar of events for the upcoming year, a
list of club officers, and a comprehensive list of Academy
numbers. I hope you find it useful and informative.
We thank our officers and members, past and present, who
have worked hard to make our club a success.
Please do not hesitate to contact me, or any other member
of the board with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Vera Albrecht
President
